Somerville First National was established in 1889. Our founder, the late James Somerville, then a well known auctioneer, established the firm as J A Somerville & Co. and developed a substantial property management practice from his offices at 4 Hercules Street, Ashfield.
Somerville First National is a private family run company and is one of the oldest of its kind in this state. Mr Somerville was a founding member of the Real Estate institute of New South Wales and of the three Institute Presidents to have come from its Western Suburbs Division, two have been principals of Somerville First National , James Somerville in 1929 and Eric Morrison in 1978 - 1979.
